* * * Even after the erection incident, Daphne continued to go back and forth once a day between Cardinal Theodore’s office and the prayer house. The news that she had decided to take on ministry at the prayer house rather than leave the order had yet to be officially announced. Even though the new Three Stars had risen, freeing the priest-in-training from the prophecy, the other priests might not take kindly to her going in and out of the Grand Temple. There was no shortage of those who harbored a peculiar sense of being the chosen, simply because they had received formal ordination as priests.
