Yet when Karsa saw Eden drenched in the rain, that same inexplicable feeling welled up in him again. His chest felt tight, aching. He grew more and more impatient. There was no time to argue with Eden. He wanted to touch him more, to be certain. To do that, he had to quiet Eden, who kept putting up futile resistance. Karsa used Eden’s name to settle him, then went on stroking his cheek and lips. Unable to do anything, Eden had no choice but to let Karsa do as he pleased. The memory of the day Karsa had forced a kiss on him surfaced. Eden swallowed hard, desperately trying to banish the thought from his mind.
