The morning of the ball was unusually clear. It was a cloudless day, yet it wasn’t hot, just pleasantly cool. Despite their concerns, the guests at the ball were in high spirits, unlike the day before. The grand banquet hall of the main palace bustled with people, and tantalizing aromas of food drifted through the air. Before the Emperor made his entrance, cheerful music played softly. “His Imperial Majesty has arrived!” When Karsa appeared, everyone turned toward him. He sat on the throne and surveyed the banquet hall. Within seconds, he spotted Eden, and his gaze sharpened. Eden stood in a dimly lit corner, staring at the floor. The clothes chosen for him looked quite good on him.
