Fren’s motive for going out of his way to use another race to stage such a scene was obvious. After the lycanthropes departed, Nefer turned back to Fren. In the meantime, Fren had once again slipped into the role of a disinterested third party who had nothing to do with any of it. Lying down with his head resting in his palm, Fren ate the grapes Vanessa fed him. Looking so languid and relaxed… he truly resembled a cat. “I’m one to talk, but you really are shameless.”
