Chapter 5: Epilogue

The nurses’ station was buzzing. Dinner trays arrived one after another in front of the VIP ward station, each meal already prepared. Befitting the VIP ward of a hospital that boasted the finest facilities in the country, every patient’s menu had been specially tailored to their condition and personal tastes. Along both sides of the long corridor lined with ten private rooms, burly security guards with collapsible batons at their waists eyed the medical staff gathering at the station, their expressions taut with tension.
