I’ve read up to around chapter 52. First of all, thank you for this translation. it’s much better than the version I read on NovelUpdates. However, this story doesn’t really suit my taste.

First, regarding the main character’s parents: from the early chapters, when it’s shown that they know the principal and that they are a married couple consisting of a Necromancer and a priest (two inherently opposing factions), it’s almost certain that they are far from ordinary characters and that does turn out to be true. Yet they didn’t teach the main character anything at all, leaving him so lacking in knowledge. I don’t know how the author will justify this later, but at this point, it just feels like a hollow trope used to serve the plot: the protagonist ranks first among new students, is looked down upon for “knowing nothing,” and then uses his outstanding talent to amaze everyone.

Next is the main character. He is a genius, just as the story establishes. While this explains all of his abilities, it also pushes the story into a painfully predictable path, like watching a Superman movie where the audience already knows how everything will turn out. On top of that, the protagonist’s characterization feels overly simplistic. He is so upright and self-sacrificing to an extreme degree that he even forgives someone who just stabbed him. That’s something I absolutely hate.

Overall, this story isn’t bad for newcomers, but it definitely won’t satisfy more demanding readers like me
